𝐉𝐨𝐢𝐧 𝐮𝐬 𝐚𝐭 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐡โ€™𝐬 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐞!!! The 30𝙩𝙝 𝘼𝙣𝙣𝙪𝙖𝙡 𝙅𝙪𝙣𝙚𝙩𝙚𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙝 𝘾𝙚𝙡𝙚𝙗𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣'𝙨, 𝙐𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙋𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙙𝙚, Saturday, June 15th, 2024, at 9 AM. The parade begins at South Grand Avenue walking down Martin Luther King, Jr. (MLK) Blvd and Brown finishing at Comer Cox Park!!!

JUNETEENTH INC. 30th ANNUAL UNITY PARADE

Thank You for your interest in the 30th Annual Juneteenth Celebration Unity Parade. Your continuous support allows our organization to maintain a 30-year tradition in the City of Springfield. As we continue to expand there have been modifications to the parade process this year. Please know it is in the spirit of establishing Springfield as the Home of Juneteenth!

When: ย Saturday, June 15th, 2024

Where: ย (St. Patrick Catholic School, 1800 South Grand Ave E, Springfield) South Grand Avenue E walking North on Martin Luther King, Jr. (MLK) Blvd and finishing at Comer Cox Park.

Time: Line up begins at 9:00am. Procession starts promptly at 10:00am

Parade Guidelines:

  • All persons in the parade group will need to be garbed in logo-adorned/identifiable attire of the registered group.
  • Any items given to parade participants must be HANDED out and NOT thrown per our insurance policy.
  • All vehicular entries including cars, floats, trucks, etc. must have 2-wheel watchers for the front tires.
  • No explicit, derogatory, and/or vulgar music, attire, and/or signage us permitted.
  • *Float Sponsors and Business Entries may not conflict with the Juneteenth, Inc. event sponsors. In all cases, Juneteenth Inc. must approve the business and products displayed and advertised.
  • Individual walkers, vehicles, and any groups ย that have sponsors provide funding, services, and/or materials to the group shall NOT put the sponsorsโ€™ names on the parade float/entry unless the sponsor is a Corporate Sponsor or Business entry.
  • All parade participants shall receive email notice of their application acceptance, parade lineup times and their perspective staging area one week prior to the parade.
  • Please note the parade starts on time, rain, or shine. So don't get left behind!

**Applications should be submitted by Saturday, June 1st.**

Late entries are considered if space is available and application fees received.

  • Application Fee

    Nominal application fee of $25 + additional fees as described below. Fees can be waived for approved services.

  • Band/Cheer/Dance Team

    BAND/CHEER/DANCE TEAM: a group that marches and entertains during the parade. To be considered as this participant you are expected to play,cheer, and/or dance for the duration of the parade route. Application fees can be waived for this participant group upon request.

  • Unity Walker

    UNITY WALKER - a group (limited to 30 people) that marches in the parade. One small support vehicle is allowed to accompany a UNITY WALKER. Business logos and signage are prohibited.

  • Vehicle Caravan

    VEHICLE CARAVAN - group of vehicles (limited to 20 vehicles) that rides in the parade. The Caravan must have wheel walkers to accompany and can include up to 20 additional walkers. Business logos and signage are prohibited.

  • Float

    FLOAT - decorated motorized vehicle usually pulling a trailer. Business names and logos are prohibited on the tow vehicle and the trailer. Floats must have wheel walkers to accompany the float and tow vehicle. Additional UNITY WALKERS may walk with the float. Floats larger than 50 people or one tow vehicle and trailer are subject to higher fees.

  • Business Signage Entry

    BUSINESS SIGNAGE ENTRY - a parade entry that is sponsored, funded or supported by one or more businesses. Business names and logos are prohibited on the trailer, tow, or vehicle.This entry level permits the UNITY WALKERS to carry a banner or signage to display the business/organization name.

  • Corporate Entry

    CORPORATE ENTRY - an entry that is allowed to display business name(s) and logo(s) on both the tow vehicle and theme related float. This entry level permits full display of logos, names, and other display advertising during the parade. Because of the unique nature of each entry, specific details will be discussed and finalized on an individual basis. Logos and signs are permitted on the tow vehicle and may be up to 36โ€ x 36โ€ - limit of two (one per side).
